Dr. Lora Mengle D.V.M.

Biography:

Dr. Lora Mengle is a Pennsylvania native who graduated from Miami University of Oxford, OH in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a minor in flute music performance. 

She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2012 and graduated with high honors. Since graduation, Dr. Mengle has practiced in both small animal general practice, emergency medicine, and done extensive relief work. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, emergency medicine, and exotic animal medicine.

She is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammals Veterinarians, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association.

Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, jewelry making, knitting, and yoga. She resides with a blue fronted amazon named Rasta, a cockatiel named Spike, and a parrotlet named Yoshi.

Origins

The hospital was originally started by Dr. Ira Fridirici in the 1950s.
Dr. Fridirici’s dedication to animal care laid the foundation for the hospital’s legacy.
 

Generational Transition

The hospital was passed on to his son after Dr. Fridirici.
This continuity ensured that the hospital’s commitment to pet health and well-being persisted.

Today, Blue Mountain Animal Hospital remains a trusted resource for pet owners, offering medical and surgical services to keep our furry friends healthy and happy. 🐾🐶🐱

Past Ownership

In 2005, Dr. Denise Jones took over ownership of the new Brunswick Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Jones worked to provide a solid tradition of compassionate care to animals in the Schuylkill County area.

Today


In 2024, Dr. Lora Mengle acquired ownership of the building under the banner of Blue Mountain Animal Hospital.
Dr. Mengle aims to evolve and diversify to many additional species while keeping with the legacy of the utmost in care to companion animals everywhere.
